Three Wheeled Buggies
Three-wheeled buggies are ideal for walking around the neighborhood or running. Their compact design makes it easy to maneuver even in tight spots.
For a smooth ride, go for a pram fitted with air-filled tyres. Also, look for models with a 360deg front swivel wheel. However, they are susceptible to punctures, so make sure you are prepared with a repair kit.
Frame made of sturdy material
Recent figures have been released revealing that the three-wheeled vehicle which was a symbol of the decade of more money than wisdom is in a decline. They have been replaced by four-wheelers that can be more versatile in terrain, while still looking swanky and being easy to push.
The rule is that the bigger the wheels, the easier it will be for your buggy to deal with rough ground and bumpy pavements. The larger wheels both rear and front allow you to maneuver and more stable while walking downhill or in difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tested the buggy with a newborn as well as a 3 year old and found it coped well with cobbles, grass rough roads, dirt tracks and kerbs. She said that it felt solid to push, and extremely solid on rough terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable and require occasionally pumping) come with suspension built-in that was very comfortable for my children.
The size and shape of the seat is another thing to consider. It should be large enough to accommodate your child's comfort and you will also need it to recline to allow them to lie flat. Some three-wheel buggies offer the option of reclining completely, while others allow a parent facing one.
The Roma Atlas is a great option for off-road and muddy walks. This buggy is ideal for a single child from birth and can be adjusted to accommodate two children as your family expands. It is suitable for infants and toddlers from birth to age 4, and comes with a bumper with a rain cover, an upgraded 5-point harness, and a huge cushioned seat. The storage options are excellent too, with a decent-sized basket, zip pockets in the hood and a handy pouch on the rear of the seat unit.
Wheels with larger diameter
Larger wheels mean your buggy will have more stability on rough terrain - perfect for buggies designed for off-road use. They also allow you to navigate the pushchair through tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies have rotating front wheels that assist you in maneuvering around tight corners, while others are designed for running and come with fixed front wheels that lock to increase the speed and stability at which they can be driven. This is also useful if you bump against trees or a kerb. The front wheel will be lifted slightly to prevent hitting it.
Many 3 wheeled pushchairs have air-filled tyres which allow them to handle a wide range of terrains. They are also more flexible than 4 wheelers. They also tend to be lighter. They are prone to punctures, so you'll require a repair kit and spare inner tubes on hand.
Some of our favourite 3-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. Both buggies feature larger wheels that, according to MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on grass, gravel tracks and market town cobbles" and are able to effortlessly move up and down kerbs. The buggies also have suspensions that Kath says "smooths out bumps very effectively".
Buggies with bigger wheels can be quite wide and may struggle to fit in tight spaces. This is an issue if you're using it as a jogger or to maneuver through doorways that are narrow when you're out and about. Fortunately, the majority of models come with small folding options that allow you to remove the front wheels to create more compact storage.
Easy to manoeuvre
A three-wheel buggy can be more comfortable to drive with children. They are designed to ensure that the front wheels be turned on a dime and are easy to move, making them ideal for difficult terrain like parks, cobblestones, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried a 3-wheeler with her infant and toddler and stated: "The Terrain was a pleasure to navigate over the rough ground and the swivel front wheel particularly useful. I was also impressed with the way it handled kerbs when using the hand-operated break. I found it extremely stable when driving downhill or on uneven ground."
The only downside of this incredible mobility is that the 3 wheel buggy 's bigger wheels sometimes mean it has to struggle in tight spaces - something to be aware of when you live in a city area. If this is an issue then a 4-wheel buggy may be better for you.
Bumper bar
Bumper bars will protect your child from scrapes and bumps while out and out and about. These bumper bars are simple to put in place and will make your child feel secure and safe while out and out and about.
Created to match the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller, this bumper bar features a soft and cushioned surface that provides an ideal place for your child to hang onto during walks. The robust construction and durable design will ensure that your child will be comfortable strolling around the town without worrying about falling or leaning towards the side.
The sling seat made of fabric sits in the frame, snugly as opposed to on top of it like modular seats do, providing the lowest center of gravity at the appropriate height for your baby and also delivering excellent weight distribution for easy kerb pop (it requires less effort to push the buggy up and over the curb than you think). MFM reviewer Kath found it to be able to deal well with cobbles and grass and is a great choice for jogging with its lockable swivel front wheel that can be locked and air filled tyres.
This bumper bar is sure to attract attention wherever it's utilized. It has a classy and fashionable look. Available in a variety of finishes and colors and designs, it can be tailored to match your style. The bumper bar can be easily removed and installed by a quick-release mechanism. The bumper bar is easy to clean as it is made of sturdy materials. This makes it a great option for families seeking a stylish and safe stroller accessory.

Comfort
A 3-wheel buggie offers the most maneuverability and performance when you go off-road. With the perfect design, engineering and weight distribution this kind of buggy is able to change direction on a dime and be easy to steer with just one hand. Mountain Buggies pass the same rigorous stability standards and tests as buggies with 4 wheels.
The seat is made of fabric placed snugly within the frame rather than sitting on top like modular seats, the Sport's smart design enables it to have a lower centre of gravity that is the perfect level for your child - giving you a more comfortable push, a lighter curb pop (you don't need as much weight or effort to pop the buggy's nose up and over a curb) and a better stability and balance. And with the huge 16'' rear wheels with lockable swivel wheels on the front and air filled tyres that require only occasional pumping for an unhurried ride on rough terrain, and a smoother more comfortable jog as well.
The only all-terrain stroller in our collection that has an adult-facing seat that can also accommodate a car seat or carrycot, you are able to make sure your family is prepared for every adventure - beginning from the first day and for many years to be!
Kath, our MFM reviewer, also appreciated the space of the buggy. There's a big easy-to-access basket that's quite spacious for such a small buggy, plus there's an excellent zip-up pouch on the rear of the seat and even 2 smaller mesh pockets inside the hood for your phone and keys.
